solo exhibition at the cambridge homes
Wow! What a difference a couple months can make. As I look at my blog post from February, unsure and unclear as to my direction in photography, I am now on track to transition my love of Cape Cod and New England imagery into a new venture to make these images more widely available.
As noted in my blog post from 2021 , before retiring as an ER doctor a couple of years ago, I embarked on a project to bring peace and serenity to the waiting area in Boston's Tufts Emergency Room through large images of Cape Cod and New England landscapes and seascapes. The feedback I received from patients and staff was phenomenal, and it now gives me the inspiration to bring this concept to other settings such as homes, hospitals, and other spaces where stress reduction through imagery could be beneficial.
I am delighted to have been invited by Cambridge Homes in Cambridge, MA, to exhibit my work. Cambridge Homes is a non-profit assisted living facility where my mother used to live, and my images helped her feel more at ease there. The exhibit, entitled Stillness at the Edge: Landscapes and Seascapes of the Cape and Beyond, is dedicated to her and will run from June 8 to July 21. I will be donating 15% of all sales to Cambridge Homes as a token of my appreciation for their amazing work, and all sales will be 20% off from the June 8th opening through June 11th.
The images in this exhibit, 16”x24”, are printed on edge-to-edge metal, which enhances the beauty of the Cape's serene landscapes. You can preview the images on my website, and if you know of any hospitals or other settings that might benefit from displaying my work, please let me know. I would be happy to discuss this further.
If you are in the Cambridge area, please join me for the opening reception on Thursday, June 8 from 4-5PM at The Cambridge Homes, 360 Mt. Auburn St, Cambridge MA. I am excited to share my work with you, and I hope it brings you as much joy as it has brought me!
