Expect the unexpected

In Provincetown, I found myself torn between enjoying my time here and pursuing photography during what was supposed to be a seemingly dull sunset. Deciding to stay indoors, I gazed out from my bedroom and was astounded by a sudden burst of vibrant red and textured sky. I was shocked.

But I shouldn’t have been. This experience of unexpected beauty has happened to me time and time again while capturing images. Just when the sky appears lackluster and clouds obstruct the perfect light, a remarkable transformation occurs within minutes.

So instead of dwelling on my missed opportunity, I swiftly grabbed my camera, headed out to the deck, and captured the moment with slow shutter images shown here. It was a reminder to embrace the present and appreciate the beauty that surrounds us.

Moving forward, I strive to remember the importance of expecting the unexpected. More importantly, I aim to remain fully present, as for me, that is truly what photography (and life!) is all about.
