The beauty and serenity of New England landscapes and seascapes

A new start

I’ve been thinking about starting a photography blog for a long time. But with my retirement from the world of pediatric emergency medicine at the end of June, now the thinking can stop. And the blog can start.

Can the camera capture what the heart feels?

As a photographer, I often struggle with how to translate the thoughts and feelings I experience while taking a shot into a true representation of the beauty and serenity of the scene.

Photos from New England to the outer Cape and Provincetown

Although my focus is on New England landscapes and seascapes, my heart belongs to the outer Cape, especially Provincetown. I want to share with you what being in Provincetown and its surroundings means to me, on an emotional and spiritual level. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way about this very special place!

I’ve had the great fortune of making the journey to the outer Cape at least yearly for the past six decades. For the past several years, I get there much more frequently. While there has been change, what strikes me is the enduring spirit and beauty of this sacred area.

I look forward to exploring the area with you as I share favorite spots and images from the past and present.

See you next time.
